Why do you chat during a church service?

  2. Something will pop in my head that I forgot to tell my friend or parent, which ever is sitting beside me, and I will tell them so I do not forget it again.

  3. I talk in a church service because I have either heard the message or something similar before, or I am hunting down a piece of gum.

  4. I am not a Christian, and still have language barriers. It is hard for me to understand all the words during the church service. Thus, I chat with people when I do not understand the messages.

  7. I do not chat in a church services. I like to listen to what is being said and think about the things that are being said.

  8. I rarely do this. But if I do it is usually brief and important.

  9. Sometimes the pastor asks us to turn to our neighbor and say something, or need clarification for what was said.

  10. I will chat during church because often the pastor will say something that will spark an idea in my head that I want to discuss with the friend I'm sitting with and I'll forget if I wait. Most conversations have to do with the church service.

  11. If I missed what the scripture was the pastor stated to turn to, I might ask the person next to me. Unfortunately, sometimes I will lose focus or get bored and start talking to the person next to me.

  12. I am human and sometimes I get distracted. My attention span isn't the longest and I give in to the temptation of distraction from time to time.

  14. If I do this, it is generally because I have something important to say and do not want to forget it by the end of the service.

  16. Talking in church is something I try to avoid, but sometimes something comes to mind and i speak.

  17. Sometimes I think of something that I need to tell/ask someone and I will probably forget if I wait until the service is over. Or sometimes I have a question about what the pastor is saying and so I need to ask for clarification.

  19. Most of the time I don't talk during a service because thats just the way I was raised, but if I do its because I have a question.

  20. Because I like to be social and not talking for more than twenty minutes is difficult for me.

  22. Sometimes I have a hard time paying attention to one thing for too long. I always sit next to my husband so if I think of something I want to tell him sometimes I just do not think and end up saying it out loud.

  23. I talk during church because my dad is the pastor and he does things that irritate me. He is very long winded and never seems to get to the point, so that irritates me.

  24. Usually, I am in the church with my team, and we always talk about more important stuff than the lecturer. If I have to talk in church, I usually talk about classes.

  27. Me and my mom will always start talking about something or try to make each other laugh in church when we get board because we both have a very small attention span and my dad will always get mad at us.

  28. Because I feel that what my family and I are talking about is necessary and more important than what's happening in the church at that time.
