There was one time a few years ago my friends and I got kicked out of a Barnes and Noble for playing Monkey in the Middle with my friend’s hat. We were just so comfortable around each other, I think we forgot where we were at. It is also standard for public places to be incredibly loud and noisy themselves, and subconsciously I think it is easy to try to match volume with the sound around you. Especially in a very loud atmospheric restaurant, it is easy to raise your talking volume in order to hear one another.
I yell in public places because I HATE feeling like I'm being ignored or like someone is over talking me. I absolutely despise setting that are obnoxiously loud.
I yell in public mainly to heard over the crowds of everyone else. Many times if you are in a restaurant or a public setting, the noise is just too overbearing thus you need to speak up to be heard

Public places are usually loud and make you feel like you should yell so other people can hear you, even if they are right beside you.
