Why do you tip little (or nothing)?

Ignorance, not knowing I was supposed to tip. For example, I didn't know I was supposed to tip the movers, the guy who assembled my bookcases, or the special "free" valet service I was forced to use at the mall because they were doing construction on their main garage.

Someone had to explain it to me and then I felt embarrassed, which is actually my default state in life so no big.

I have been in situations where my life depended on tips. I worked for Dixie Stampede in Pigen Forge, TN. I despised people who would not leave any tip. Sometimes a person would leave only one dollar which made me more mad.

I hardly ever tip because I basically don't have enough money to spend an extra four to five dollars after a ten dollar meal. I understand that tips are a major source of income for servers, but I personally can't afford to do it all the time.

I tip little because sometimes i do not have enough money to leave the right amount. It also depends on how the waiter treats me.

I am a cheap college student who doesn't have a job, but I also forget sometimes and that makes me feel terrible. I may not have much, but I give what I can.

I do not tip alot because i just do not have the money. I try to leave some tip each time i eat but many times its not the correct percentage.I feel like servers should get paid just as much as the cookers and the other workers. I do not think the waiters should have to relay on tips but i try to leave some tip.

Sometimes I don't tip enough if I literally don't have enough money to make an adequate tip. Otherwise it would only be if the server was neglecting our table for no good reason and not giving good service. Once I didn't give a tip in another country because I couldn't figure out how to configure how much to give and was so nervous I would seriously screw up. I felt so bad!

I won't leave a tip if the server does a bad job. I don't usually leave a high tip because I don't exactly have extra money to give away.

Most of the time i try to tip the reasonable 15% but if i tip little or nothing its because im broke and can barely afford the meal.

I used to wait tables a lot, being a waitress was my first few jobs actually. So, when I go to a food joint, whether it be fancy or fast food, I tip based on how the waitor/waitress treat me. If I get service that is excellent I will give them a decent tip, but if I get horrible service and get ignored most of my time there I will not leave any tip for the waitor. This may seem harsh, but I feel that if I was able to be a good waitress when I was 17 I believe that a 28 year old worker should be far better than I was. Pretty much I will tip well if I feel I was treated well.

I usually tip nothing because if i go out to eat i only have money to pay for my food or another persons food and thats it

I will tip the majority of the time I go out to eat. The amount I tip depends on the service. I can not stand if a server is rude or ignores me because of my age. I feel that if you know you are working off tips why would you ever ignore someone or be rude. If you want a good tip be a good server. Daniel S.

I don't think tipping is necessary. I pay for the meal and my service should be included, not a supplemental charge.

I am a poor college student. The server is even lucky that I have enough to leave my average $2.00.

My meals are normally around $15 dollars when i go out to eat, unless i go to an expensive place. I just always tip three dollars, but my friends that are waiters give me a hard time.

Honestly, because I'm a poor college student that still likes to go out to eat.

I tip strictly on how the service was. If I don't tip well, it is because I felt as if the server did not deserve it.

I only tip little to none when the service is poor. If the service is good I tip about 10 to 15 %. I typically don't tip at fast food drive-thru places such as Wendy's or Sonic.

What is the average nights tips total

I only leave a small or no tip if I get terrible service or if the waiter/waitress is being rude. Other than that, I like to tip a decent amount.

Some times I do not have any or little cash.
