Why don't you wear your seat belt?

I once wrecked into a lake where my seat belt almost caused mr to drown. I now have a phobia of wearing seat belts.

As often as my boyfriend corrects me when we ride in the car together, I still haven't gotten into the habit of automatically putting my seat belt on. Sometimes I'll put it on while I'm in transit but usually if I'm only going to be in the car for a bit I don't bother to put it on because I'll just have to take it right off again. Most of the time is just because I don't think about it. I haven't made it a habit so I don't automatically do it when I hop in the driver's seat. When I'm in the backseat or passengers eat on a long car ride I hate seat belts because it makes trying to sleep really uncomfortable.

Often times i don't know that i'm doing it but i often speed in school zone because i'm often in a rush to get somewhere.

Its annoying wearing one and restricts you from doing certain tings in the car even though i know it keeps you safe.

I don't wear a seat belt at times because I feel more free without it. It feels restrictive and I don't like that. There have been times when I've dropped something important or something that could cause damage to the interior of my vehicle and I had to unbuckle to get it. This is another reason.

I try to wear my seat belt ,but unfortunately, I just forget way more than I should. When I get in my car I always feel like I am in a hurry so I just start it and go. Most of the time once I get a little way down the road I will buckle it, but if its a short drive I normally don't worry about it. As bad as it sounds, it just seems to take too much time.

I don't wear one sometimes because I think I am invincible. I know that getting in an accident could not be my fault at all, but I guess I have the "it won't happen to me" attitude.

It is more comfortable to not wear one. Even though a seat belt could save my life I choose not to wear one.

I don't wear a seatbelt because its my decision... I am not endangering anyone else by not wearing one. I find them uncomfortable and only useful in extreme situations... and most of the time i forget to put it on.

Honestly, sometimes I do not buckle up because I'm just too lazy to do so.

I once wrecked on an interstate and a seatbelt saved my life. I have always worn one and will continue to.

Sometimes I feel as though it restricts me. Also I get scared of being choked by it in an accident.

Sometimes I forget to put it on because campus is so close to where I live. But my mom did tell me that she'd kick my butt if I were to get into an accident and be hurt because I wasn't wearing a seatbelt. So I try to more often now

I think it is uncomfortable.

My seatbelt was broken for the first two years that I had my car. At the least amount of pressure, the seatbelt would break free of the clicky thing. My dad didn't do anything about it-- he's the one that gave me the car-- so I didn't wear it. I hadn't been wearing my seatbelt for six years, and I got a ticket recently for not wearing it.

I do not buckle my seat belt because it is too much of a hassle to unbuckle and buckle every time I enter or exit the vehicle. A seat belt is an inconvenience and aggravating when you are always on the go the way that I am

It is inconvenient to wear a seat belt.

If I'm driving a short distance then I usually wont wear a seat belt. However, my car has an annoying beep if I don't wear it so I normally just put it on.

The only time I don't wear a seatbelt is when I am in a hurry and just don't think about it.

So I don't die if I crash with someone or something else.

Sometimes I do not wear my seat belt if I am in a hurry. I just don't even think to put it on.

I personally don't like it, and do not feel that i should be made to do something in a vehicle that I own. They are also uncomfortable. I have been in two car accidents, and both times was perfectly fine without my seat belt.

Most of the time when I am driving somewhere I am not going far and feel like I won't need it. I also feel like I am in control of myself and my vehicle and will not allow a wreck to happen. For some reason I always wear my seat belt when I am in the passenger seat though.

I always wear my seat belt because the cops in Jeff county always pull people over for it.

I only forgo a seatbelt if I'm in the backseat. It's a lot more comfortable.

I always wear my seat belt when I drive, but I have gotten into the habit of not wearing it while I am the passenger. I am fairly short and the seat belt rubs my neck oftentimes. I sometimes tuck it under my arm, but that is uncomfortable as well. I know that comfort should not compromise my safety, but the seat belt can become an annoyance, and that is why I do not always wear it.

Sometimes wearing a seat belt is too much hassle and sometimes I forget to wear one. Also, I normally only drive around campus without one but I have been pulled over for that and I still do it. Crazy.

I never wear a seatbelt if I am in the backseat. I always feel trapped, but I also know that I am screwed if a big car crash happens.

I almost always wear my seat belt, but on the rare occasion that I do not is because I will be in the back seat with a person on either side of me or because I am driving less than two minutes away.

I put my seat belt on often. Sometimes I do not think about it until I am almost at my destination.

I don’t wear a seatbelt when I’m a passenger. I was in a horrible car crash when I was 17, and having my seatbelt on would have killed me according to EMS

I normally wear my seatbelt, but if i don't it's usually is because I'm going right up the street or very close to my home. My car will yell at me if I don't put it on so i usually have to.
