Why do you signal when you aren't going to make a turn?

Because I forgot and left my signal on.

I signal when I am not going to make a turn to make sure the driver behind me sees me slowing down. When someone is driving really close to me or is coming up fast I turn on my blinker for a few seconds to slow the driver behind me.

Other than making turns, I also turn on my signal when I'm changing lanes. Also, if I know I'm going to turn somewhere, sometimes I put on my signal prematurely just to make sure everyone knows that something is about to change.

Sometimes I will turn my signal on if the car in front of me is turning. This way they know that we will be slowing down. Sometimes I forget it is on for a few seconds. Sometimes I hit it by accident.

Usually it's just an accident. Sometimes I leave my turn signal on after a turn also.

I either forgot, or I think it's really funny to make people think I'm turning. It's also fun to turn your left blinker on and turn right.

If I see a large curve, I am going to turn my blinker on. I honestly do not know why that is. I know I am not turning yet I automatically turn my signal on.
