Why do you text while driving?

Ok, I admit it. I do text while driving despite the 10 million commercials and billboards I have seen. I am shocked there are not more people to fess up to this one, but that is beside the point. I text while I drive because usually I think the conversation is too important to stop. Sometimes, I even begin conversations. I do not think that I am a bad driver while texting, however scary that may seem, but I do not look at my phone I have texted so much on the phone I have to where I have the buttons memorized. I will simply drive with my knee while watching the road and text away. I do it because I like to talk. Plain and Simple.

I hate myself for doing it but it keeps me entertained. I get bored without it sometimes.

I text while driving because of the convenience of it. I can see motion even while texting. Most of the time I watch the road rather than what I'm typing regardless.

I do text while I drive. I admitted it. But I dont have conversation text. I just text "love you" to my hubby and kids. Or I will text k. If I get a text that is more than two words. I will pull over or wait til I get where I am going to reply.

I text while driving because I feel that continuing a conversation through text is possible while driving a car; as long as I am driving on familiar roads. However, if I am driving in a new city or on a route I don't take too often, I will then not text while I drive. Also, the only other time I do not text while I drive is when my Mother is in the car with me. Overall, I haven't had a wreck yet and if I am on well known roads I feel that texting while driving is okay to do.

Honestly, it's because I get bored. When I"m in the car by myself it's easy to get distracted. I normally try to do it just at stop lights, but I like to have people to talk to, and talking to one person for 2.5 hours is difficult to do.

I text while I drive because even though it is against the law I feel the need to communicate whenever I can with my friends. I always make sure to have both hands on the wheel and I try to keep the texting to only at stop lights or signs but generally I text whenever I get a messsage. As a young adult I do not feel like I will crash or slip up at all.

I hate to admit it, but I text while driving because I don't want to stop an ongoing conversation. Also, because I hate when people take forever to respond so if someone texts me I like to respond immediately, whether driving or not.

I only text more than one word while stopped at a red light, stop sign, or in traffic. I don't type while going down the road it is way to dangerous and there is no conversation that is that important.

Sometimes I am in the middle of a serious or important conversation or somemeone may text me with a question they need an answer to quickly. That's the only time I usually text and drive.

I text while driving even though I know I should not. It keeps me entertained while driving long distances and is not as hard as holding a phone to your ear and having a conversation.

I do text while driving even though I'm told not to, and I even know of people that have wrecked while doing it. I guess I do it because I get bored or because I don't want to stop talking to that person. However, I'm pretty sure if I told them that I was driving, they would understand, and we would continue the conversation later.

Texting while driving is one of those things I know I should not be doing but I do it anyways. I am not sure why, actually. I guess I think I am a 5 star driver and all the bad outcomes of texting and driving that I am warned about, will just never happen to me. I should probably change that. I don't know why I think those rules don't apply to me.

I know that texting when driving is dangerous, but I feel that I do not text in dangerous situations. I try to limit myself to text if I am at a stop sign or stop light. But, if I do text while my car is moving I feel that the situation I am texting in is not dangerous.

I text while I drive, but I feel that I do not text in dangerous situations. If I am going to text I am either at a stop sign, stop light, or by myself on the road. That probably makes me naive, but so far so good. Daniel S.

I try not to do this, but sometimes I do. I only text while driving at a stop sign, back roads, or red lights.

If I am in a serious conversation with someone and traffic is crazy and slow, I will text them because I absolutely hate keeping people waiting, especially on me. Driving in traffic also gets very boring so I'll text a friend to pass the time.

When I text while driving they are short texts like "yeah", "on my way", or "okay". I know it is dangerous, but I feel like I can do it quick enough that it is not dangerous.

I recently watched videos about wrecks with texting and driving and it is the hardest thing to watch. I stopped texting and driving for a little while after that, but it is so hard to not text and drive. I still do, but i need to try and call people if i am driving or text back at stop lights.

I text while driving occasionally, to send short messages only. I've been apart of an terrible accident due to someone texting and driving so I try not to.

I text while I am driving sometimes because if I am busy that seems like the only time possible to do so. I know that I am completely wrong because texting and driving is bad, but sometimes I pick my phone up out of habit to respond to someone.

Guilty... I used to not do it, but sometimes it is convenient.

I do this if I am in a rush and want to tell someone I am on my way or something like that. I have started to stop doing this, however, because it is extremely dangerous.

I'll admit that I do, but it's usually because it's more convenient than waiting till you get home. Yes, I realize that isn't a good reason.
