I drive slow in the left lane because I need to turn left somewhere down the road. I also drive in the left lane if no one is driving in the left lane.
Either because I have to make a left turn or I want to tick off the person who is driving like a maniac. Also, what is the definition of slow? Going 65 in a 55mph zone is not going slow.. but for some people it is.
I am one of those rare people that actually likes to drive the speed limit. So I do not care what lane I am in; I intend to drive the speed limit in the left lane

The only reason I drive slow in the left lane is if there is no turning lane but i still need to turn left.
If I need to make a turn into a median, then I slow down in the left lane. I always use my turn signal though so people know I am slowing down....

Usually because I need to turn left. Or just pure laziness because I don't feel like getting over for someone.
Sometimes I drive slow in the left lane to teach the others a lesson not to speed recklessly.
