I text at the dinner table because I don't want to miss out on anything and I hate stopping a conversation over text message for thirty minutes to just start it over again.

I text at the dinner table because I don't see it as a big deal.

The only time I ever text at the dinner table is when I am solely surrounded by my friends in a casual setting. Eating dinner in the cafeteria here at school is a perfect example. Anytime I am eating with any other people in any other setting I make it a point not to have my phone out.

Basically, I don't want to miss out on anything. Plus, at times, I get bored sitting their with my family, so I begin to text.

We don't eat at the table anymore. Things have gotten really relaxed with my parent's house rules, but since we all just watch tv while we eat, we don't really mind when someone is texting unless people are trying to talk to whoever is texting.

I usually texted at the dinner table, because just wait the food coming in the restaurant. But I never text at the dinner table at home with family.

I used to text at the dinner table because I do not think it is a important meal, and usually I eat by myself. I do not text when I eat with the other people. Because my family taught me it is impolite to do something else when people eat together.

I text at the table if my family isn't talking, or if I am sitting there by myself, or if I am having a really important conversation. i don't just text and ignore my family to be rude, I avoid that at all costs if I can.

I text at the dinner table because I don't want to miss out on my conversation or try to continue it after dinner. My family always ate together when I lived there, and we conversed regularly, but I used my phone. I don't think it impacted our relationships or our conversations at dinner.

I usually only text while waiting for a meal. The only time I will have my phone out while eating at the dinner table is to answer a call, or if someone needs to use mine for various reasons.

I always have my phone at the dinner table and text just to make sure nothing bad ever happens while I am away. I usually eat by my self anyway.

I live alone right now. So I just text to feel a little more "involved" socially.

I text at the dinner table because my family does not have rules against it. If i were to go out to a nice dinner or with people other than my family then I would not text.

I used to text at the dinner table because my parents never talked about anything that interested me.

Bad habit. I do not do this often but I should not do this at all.

I will only do this if a friend texts and I know due to our crazy schedules it is the only time they are free to talk or if my Mom really wants me to ask someone something due to a conversation.

I text at the dinner table only when I can keep up with both conversations. Since I take breaks between texts, I have plenty of time to stay caught up with the conversation at the dinner table. I think of it as similar to having a side conversation, except the other person isn't physically present.

It's a really bad habit. I feel the need to give my phone my attention anytime it rings. I have been trying to work on breaking this habit.

When I do it's usually important.

I try not to text at the table unless the message I need to send is really important, or if no one else is eating with me. However, there are times I get caught up in the conversation and start texting at the table even when others are dining with me.

I have people to talk to, and besides I never eat at the table.

It gives me the opportunity to talk with multiple people at once.

I do not have this bad habit of texting at the dinner table but I have done this a few times. I will text at the dinner table if I am in the middle of a conversation that I fell cannot wait until I get done.

I text at the dinner table because it has become such an addiction. I often don't realize how much I look at my phone until someone calls me out for it. My parents don't allow texting at the table, but I often text under the table and attempt to hide it from them.

Because I may be talking to someone that care about or is in an important or good converstion

I don't text at the dinner table because that is rude, people need to learn how to "be somewhere when they are there"

I text at the dinner table because I want to carry on with whatever I am doing on my phone. I don't really mean to be rude, I just want to keep texting whoever I am talking to.

I text at the dinner table when I am uninterested, waiting to be served, or trying to avoid awkward situations.

I hardly ever eat at the dinner table. I live with my friend sand if we do eat at the table, then it is perfectly acceptable to text at the table because we all do.

During the year, it is the only time when I can answer people.

I only text if necessary or if everything is finished and everyone is just sitting there on their phones

My families rules have gotten relaxed, so it is not a big issue for someone to be texting at the dinner table. I do not do it excessively, but if I receive a text then I will respond.
