I'm 18 years old and I sleep all the time in class, I feel like my classmates think that I'm such a disrespectful fool but I don't want to sleep, I just can't help it. It's because I have an obsession with going to bed late, the idea of sleeping before 2.30am is so weird to me even when I have to wake up at 6.30am. I still get good grades so my teachers aren't as hard on me as they should be so I have no motivation to stop napping in class lol
I usually don't nap in class, the only time i do is if the night before is a long night of studying or traveling for basketball. I can't remember the last time i have went to sleep before 12:30am.
When I sleep in class it is not becuase I am choosing to, it is usually because I am so tired. I normally do not go to bed until at least 3 or 4 in the morning.
Because I'm a nursing major! Lol. We are always tired. I work and take lots of classes. Plus, I stay up late to talk to my husband on Skype while he's overseas.
If I am sleeping in class I'm beyond tired and it would probably be more beneficial to take a nap than to sit and fight my sleep. I wouldn't retain any information being that tired anyway.
I don't think sleeping in class is something people do intentionally. If I am sleeping in class, which is rare, then it is probably because I was up late the previous night working on something from that class.
I understand it is very disrespectful to fall asleep in class, and I can only remember two or three times that it has happened for me, in high school. I am really bad at controlling myself when I get tired to stay awake, and I usually can't help it when it happens.
The only time I will sleep in class is if I am exhausted from the night before or if the material a professor is teaching is uninteresting and puts me to sleep.
I usually fall sleep in class if we are watching a movie, or if i am very tired from the night before. If i feel overly tire, then it is hard for me to sit through an hour lecture.

I don't do it often but when I do its because the lecture was boring or because I worked late and had to stay up late to get class work done.

Because I am in nursing school and usually have been up all night the night prior studying or doing a care plan.
staying up late, waking up early for weights and conditioning, and then having an 8am lecture class...the question is how do you stay awake in class.
I try not to but football is very grueling and it takes away a lot of your energy

mostly of lack of sleep and sometimes the lecture is mono tone and repetitive.
i sleep in class if i am tired and did not get good night sleep the night before, or if i am bored and do not feel like paying attention.

I sleep in class either because I am too tired from staying up late studying or because I have nothing to do in the class and decide to go to sleep.
Because I am too tired from studying material late into the night from lecture the day before
