I do not use the sidewalk because I feel cool/rebelous walking in the road. Also, where I am from there are not many sidewalks, so you have to walk in the road or grass.
The reason why I don't walk on the side walk it because the street is bigger. When I walk on the side walk I feel like I am squeezed in but when on the street I can breath.
I do not always use the sidewalk (when I roller blade or ride my bike) because I do not want to have to dodge pedestrians and the concrete on the road is sometimes smoother.
Sometimes the rebelliousness of walking in the middle of the road gives a sense of freedom. You always want to do what someone is telling you not to do.
I am more of a rebel so I do not like to use sidewalks or crosswalks. Most of the time, taking the sidewalk or crosswalk is not as fast or efficient as walking on the grass or through the street.
The sidewalk is cramped and I like my own space. If a vehicle is near, then I'll get back on the sidewalk, but if not, then I'm strollin' down the street.
I am an extreme introvert and will try to avoid conversation by any means necessary sometimes, as terrible as that sounds. I usually cut through parking lots, walk through the grass, or find an alternate route to take rather than using the sidewalk.
I will only not walk on the side walk if there isn't enough room or if the sidewalk is on the other side of the street and I need to get some where across from it.

I use the side walk so I don't get hit by a car. I value my life and do not want to die from being hit.
To shorten my route

I point at people when I am talking about them. I also point at people when I am trying to get their attention.

I like to be a rebel

Because I like to run in the road more. It doesn't have as many bumps as a sidewalk would.
I don't walk on sidewalks because it is a tight squeeze for everyone if you are passing people. I like my own space.
I do most of the time unless I'm in the country.
The only time I don't use the sidewalk is when it is blocked.
Sometimes the sidewalks aren't the shortest path between you and your destination so it saves you time to walk on the streets or grass.
it feel faster not to take the sidewalk
